Global demand for aqua feed rising 11.4% annually

The global demand for aqua feed is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 11.4% from 2013 through 2019, according to a new report published by Transparency Market Research on the trends and forecasts for the aqua feed market.

By 2019, the report predicts, demand will reach a value of $122.6 billion, up from $57.7 billion in 2012. In terms of volume, the demand is projected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 10.9%, reports the Digital Journal.

New Study: Omega-3 Enriched Chicken is a Lucrative Draw Among Consumers

Consumers want healthier chicken enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids, and they’re willing to pay a premium to get it. Those are the findings of a new study of U.S. consumers by the Nielsen Perishables Group, which polled approximately 700 consumers. According to the study, 79% of those polled expressed interest in chicken enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids, and a majority, 58%, are willing to pay more in order to get it.
